The Calvo Building

The Calvo Building was inaugurated on August 14, 1938. This was designed in Beaux Arts style by Ar. Fernando H. Ocampo and became one of the most notable edifices in Escolta.

Edificio Calvo was home to some of the country's known companies such as Sarabia Optical (first branch in Manila), the Philippine Bank of Commerce and the birthplace of Republic Broadcasting System (dzBB) or currently known as GMA Network, Inc.

This majestic building along Calle Escolta corner Callejon Soda now houses the Calvo Vintage Museum or popularly known as the Escolta Museum, where old stuff collected by Teotico Family (current owners) are being displayed.
